Caldwell Arts Council Announces Availability of Grassroots
Grant Funds for Community Organizations
Applications Available at Caldwell Arts Council
LENOIR, NC – The Caldwell Arts Council announces that Grassroots Arts Program Funds are now available to local organizations for community art programs. All interested applicants are encouraged to discuss their application with the Caldwell Arts Council, and grant writing assistance is available to anyone who applies.
Applications are available at the Caldwell Arts Council and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2010. Applicant organizations are preferably non-profit and tax-exempt. Grassroots project applications are reviewed based on criteria established by the North Carolina Arts Council and implemented by the Caldwell Arts Council. Funds are awarded based on project merit, artistic quality, display of innovation and creativity, numbers of people to be served through the project, involvement of local artists, stability of applicant organization and the total level of community involvement in the proposed project. Grants must be matched 100% and applicants may apply for up to $3,000 in grant funds. All of the projects funded must be completed by May 30, 2011.
The Caldwell Arts Council is the Designated County Partner for the Grassroots Arts Program funds. The funds are allocated to Caldwell County on a per capita basis by the North Carolina Arts Council and the Department of Cultural Resources. These funds are approved each year by the North Carolina General Assembly.
