Art In Healing Gallery - 3rd Quarter 2011 - Betsy Coogler

The Art in Healing Gallery is located within Caldwell Memorial Hospital at 321 Mulberry Street SW in Lenoir. Patrons may enter the hospital gallery from the Mulberry Street entrance between the hours of 8am-7pm. The exhibit is FREE to the public. For more information, please contact the Caldwell Arts Council at 828 754 2486.

BETSY COOGLER, ASHEVILLE NC

Asheville NC artist Betsy Coogler will display paintings and fiber art work during the 3rd quarter exhibit at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital Art-in-Healing Gallery beginning July 1, 2011 and continuing through September 30.

Betsy's work is a reflection of the things she loves: her children, the flowers in her garden, her dog, and the beauty that surrounds us here in Western North Carolina.  Sometimes she wants to paint these things, other times she wants to use fabric to design the scene.  She's comfortable with both, and believes going back and forth between these two media helps her artistically.

Betsy Kendrick Coogler was born and raised in Shelby, North Carolina.  She studied art at The Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore and painting at the Leo Marchutz School in Provence, France.  She currently resides in Asheville North Carolina.  You can find her work at Textures Gallery in Waynesville and at Hands Gallery in Boone.
